Who is Peter Joseph?

Who is Peter Joseph? A Mini-Doc by Charles Robinson. In late 2009 I was able to interview Peter Joseph, the creator of “Zeitgeist, The Movie” and “Zeitgeist- Addendum”; Founder of The Zeitgeist Movement, in his home. He described himself and his life in details in what is likely a rare interview. He was kind enough to provide me with previously unreleased media and video and I in turn did my best to create a documentary (albeit kinda poor in quality compared to his work!) that would help express who this person is.

peter whoever you are you snuck into my head and ripped out my thoughts and now you are sitting there saying them.

Pleasing to see that Peter Joseph is a regular guy.
I agree on most of the subject material presented in the Zeitgeist series, and I thank you for your work, but the one thing that I must disagree with is that Jesus Christ was a sun god.

Jesus Christ is the SON of God, not a sun god, such as, Helios/Apollyon. This is another way in which religion has hijacket the glory of Jesus Christ The Son Of God.
    Good interview.

Joseph is wrong on the oil matter. Where I live for example there’s a basin of oil that’s bigger than Alaska’s oil reserves. There’s oil being discovered, it’s not scarce. that was just discovered and hidden from the public for a little amount of time… we must use this to start weaning ourselves off oil though. Oil to help us create alternative energy with things like Hemp. Check out the trailer to “Dreams of Liberty” featuring Ron Paul at http://www.battleforjustice.com

The more I watch both Peter Joseph and Jaques Fresco the more I relate to their proposed future. There is a strange edit in this film at the 25:40 minute mark however that took me by surprise. He was talking about religion and then an oligarchical evolution (cut) that has emerged since the hunter gatherers. I’m not sure what he really said before the film was edited but I was pleased to hear a reference to what I consider Daniel Quinn’s theory (among others) as written in the 2 books Ishmael and The Story of B. The ideas in Zeitgeist correlate closely to Daniel Quinn’s in my opinion but I’ve been unable find references to Daniel Quinn in the Zeitgeist movement. I hope that the Zeigeisters start to include Quinn’s notions. It feels like that’s what is missing in the polemic. I’m being too vague here but I hope to participate more in Zeitgeist, and to talk about Daniel Quinn. The recent split between the Zeitgeisters and the Venus Project, I believe, is unimportant in the long run. This is a cultural wave that will constantly change as it progresses.

knox your right there is enough oil to keep economies humming decades maybe centuries
its like the diamond industry a huge monopoly exists and it artificially keeps prices high to benefit only themselves.
however we do need to find a better way wars and incidents like 9/11 will keep happening if we dont.

  • Jonny

You have to take into account that monopolies only exist because of government, government impose barriers of entry into the market by the use of force.

If oil companies could control the price of oil in a free market prices will be high or low depending on scarcity, and because companies want customers they will constantly try to undercut each other.

However, we don’t have a free market unfortunately. The government prevents further exploration and drives up the cost with regulations and taxation.

  • william hale

you have the cart in front of the horse
    sir
    oil companies dictate to governments.
america’s pathetic response to the oil spill in the gulf shows this to be true.
in australia every few years we are promised by government a review of the rip off practises of oil companies on the consumer…
    that goes absolutely nowhere!
the truth is we live in a corporate society and the illusion of democracy is elaborate and looks real.
    it isnt
whoever gets power in canberra takes orders from the reserve bank(unelected) and corporations.

  • Jonny

Sure companies are dictating government. I don’t disagree. Im just pointing out to you that monopolies can only exist because governments impose barriers of entry into the market to protect those companies dictating government. Government foster monopolies because it is itself a monopoly.

  • william hale

    true i agree with you
