When Mitt Romney Came To Town

Mitt Romney. Was he a job creator or a corporate raider?

That's the question this film answers.

And it's not pretty.

Mitt Romney was not a capitalist during his reign at Bain. He was a predatory corporate raider. His firm didn't seek to create value. Instead, like a scavenger, Romney looked for businesses he could pick apart. Indeed, he represented the worst possible kind of predator, operating within the law but well outside the bounds of what most real capitalists consider ethical.

He is exhibit number one the left wants to use in the coming election to give capitalism a bad name.

He and his friends at Bain were bad guys. Any real capitalists should disavow Romney's 'creative destruction' model that made him wealthy at the expense of thousands of American jobs.

Mitt Romney and his cronies pioneered 'deindustrialization,' a process by which they searched out vulnerable companies, took them over, loaded them with debt, and collected obscene fees while doing so. He sent jobs overseas or killed them altogether, and then picked apart the remains - including pension funds - before the companies went bankrupt.

Some might call that the free market. Most of us think its just plain wrong.

If you wonder why America has lost so many manufacturing jobs overseas, look no further than Mitt Romney -- the King of Bain.

Think you know Mitt?

Think again...

YEP!!!! Romney is a vain scumbag. Obama is going around telling everyone that he personaly shot Ben Laden.... I think we should just write the next president into office. Any member of Navy Sealteam 6 will do nicely. He or she can just take the stripes off their old uniform and pass it to Obama on his way out.  Obama  can run the garbage grinder on some old ship somewhere. Mitt can continue stealing old peoples pension funds and pulling the wings off baby birds and butterflys for control freak recreation at the end of the day.

I CAN ONLY SAY THAT WHAT MAKES ME SO SICK ABOUT MITT ROMNEY IS THE PAIN HE CAUSES TO OTHERS... HIS COMPANY TOOK OVER GREAT PLACES, AND MADE LOTS OF MONEY FOR HIS BAIN COMPANY, AND NOTHING FOR THE WORKERS.   I FIND IT HARD NOT TO USE THE WORDS "SON OF A BITCH" WHEN SPEAKING OF MITT ROMNEY.... HE IS A JERK, THIEF, DIRTY, I HATE WHAT HE STANDS FOR.... HE STANDS FOR HIMSELF....THAT'S ALL. AND HE "PRETENDS" TO BE SUCH A GREAT RELIGIOUS MAN,,, NO WONDER MORMONS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO READ WHAT THEY NEED TO READ TO PU T THAT SOB AWAY FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE!!  I WOULD DO THAT IN A HEART BEAT!   NANCY L.

The fact that you can't even differentiate Venture Capital (what Bain did) from Private Equity (what you claim Bain did) is pathetic.

Let me first say, that as an avowed documentary junkie, I visit your site often and truly appreciate the wide variety of films you make available.  Thank you.

Let me also say, that it would be difficult to find a totally unbiased, "viewpoint neutral" documentary ... although the "purity" of intent varies from one filmmaker to the next, ultimately the willingness to commit oneself to a project is fueled by a sense of purpose (witness, Barbara Kopple's amazing "Harlan County U.S.A.").

It's from that perspective that I strongly urge you to protect the integrity of your site, by removing the anti-Romney "paid advertisement" (the film's words ... not mine).  In case my comment is seen as a call for censorship, let me suggest that at the very least, you should slap a warning across the title, that this is not a documentary - it's a 30 minute infomercial ... which is clearly stated by the film, but not until the very end.

Romney may be scum, but that's no reason for your web site to be co-opted by the scum opposing him in the primary.
