    be careful of this one! From the trailer it sounds like aids denialist propaganda. The only point of note is that AIDS is a syndromic diagnosis, why this is news how ever i do not know. FYI :

    AIDS = Acquired Immuno-Deficiency “SYNDROME”

    “HIV testing is not an exact science”. philosophical point : no testing is 100% accurate. if you want 100% certainty (as opposed to 99% efficacy!) go to a chiropractor.

    The most common protocol for HIV testing is ELISA, after one +ve result, the test is repeated a month later. If there are two positive results it is not uncommon to do a third (more sensitive test) such as immunofluorescence microscopy. Added together there is a false positive likelihood of far less than 1%.

    However results that are “intermediate” (which is to say results that are only “a bit” +ve) are often sent for EVEN MORE sensitive testing using a variety of techniques.

    after all this testing, statistical analysis shows that the natural history of people who turn out to be HIV +ve is to (after a number of years) develop AIDS. This has been greatly improved by HAART therapy.

    AIDS is real.
    AIDS is caused by HIV infection.
    “big pharma” is an evil, money making bunch of corporations. However that should not discredit the independently shown efficacy of HAART therapy.

    Sorry to be long winded, but aids denial is among the most damaging of pseudo-sciences. IF you dont believe that google “the doctor will sue you now”, its a chapter of a book by ben goldacre that is freely distributed on-line.

      Grea, to correct you, AIDS stands for Auto Immune Deficiency Syndrome.

        Grea, I suspect you have not watched the video or that if you DID you did not understand.

        It is interesting that those area’s of Africa with a high level of selenium in the soil have a LOW incidence of AIDS. This should point out that while AIDS is real is cause is something OTHER than HIV.

        Also both definitions for AIDS are correct. One being about 5 years older than the other one.
