Peter T. Leeson (born July 29, 1979) is BB&T Professor for the Study of Capitalism at the Mercatus Center, George Mason University He authored The Invisible Hook: The Hidden Economics of Pirates, a book in which he uses rational choice theory to examine the economic conditions and incentives that influenced pirate behavior and resulted in their being pioneers of democracy.

    i actually take back that last comment, it would probably work after watching the video it is just that the implications of this can be pretty profound, and I dont know about its effect on economic growth

    good thought exercise but not realistic. If you did this in the United States there would be a high likelihood of war between groups almost constantly. Humans arent all intellectuals, that is, we still have barbarians which ruin the model.

    Maybe not the best lecture, but I for one enjoyed the thinking process and organization.  Even without the powerpoint, I took away some great viewpoints.  
    Highly recommended.

    His powerpoint isn't captured by the camera but if you listen to his lecture you'll learn a lot and it will allow you to open your mind to different ideas and think about the way our society is governed, ordered, structured and set up. Maybe there's a different way.
